Head Vs. Heart: A Myth.


 

In this blog, we will discuss the myth we all know that our head and our heart want and work in the opposite way, but in fact, they both are aligned and mend to be worked together and if we practice establishing cooperation between them we will live ecstatic life.

 It is common that we find ourselves in a turmoil of head vs heart, that our head leads us in one direction and our heart leads us in another, it feels like we are in a car with two drivers one is driving on the basis of emotions, feelings, and another one is working on the basis of logics, thoughts, practical approach doing what is right. But we forget that the car is the same that is You, which means you are one entity if you look at this carefully and with absolute sincerity, you will realize that the way you feel is the way you think and the way you think is the way you feel, everything is aligned.

 It is our mind only which has both the aspects that are emotional aspects and the logical aspects. Let us take an example – if you think about a person as a wonderful one, you will obviously feel loved and attached to them, and if you think that he/she is a horrible person you will feel nasty emotions towards them. It is not possible to feel the opposite about any situation, let us not make hard work of the simple aspects of life.

The way you think is the way you feel, but thought and feeling seem to be different in our experience, why is this so?

Because thought has a certain clarity, and certain agility about it, whereas emotions take time it is slower than our thoughts and logic and fragile. Today you might feel loving towards a person and suddenly he/she does something hurtful you start thinking that the person is not a good person, but here our emotions are not ready to accept the fact that our head knows. Your head says he/she is a horrible person we should make distance yourself from them but your heart is not ready to process this feeling immediately. It struggles. It has a wider turning arc. Depending on the depth of your emotions, maybe it will take 3-4 days, or weeks, or months or maybe some years, depending upon your emotional capacity but eventually, it will turn around.

 It is not useful to create this conflict, Right?

Emotions are the juicier part of thoughts that have more depth, and more intensity. You enjoy its sweetness but sometimes we have to face the bitter and hard part also. Our emotions are not entirely steady, it chatters and goes this way and that way but it is less agile than thoughts.

 In this world, there is only 5-10 percent of people capable to generate the kind of thought that is so intense that there is no need for emotions. Other 90-95 percent of the population can only generate intense emotions because they have never done the necessary work for the alignment of their thoughts and emotions and never considered them as one.

 So, it is best to not create polarities within yourself, that make for civil war. Thought and feeling are not different. One is dry another one is juicy. Enjoy both consider them as you and as one works for the friendship of both your drivers only you will be able to enjoy Life and remain joyous and peaceful. If you are an emotional person, accept your emotions, be gentle to them allow them to take their space and time, and train your thinking brain to cooperate with them.
