Expressing gratitude is expressing love.

We have read and heard many definitions of Gratitude but experiencing it to the core requires consciousness. How many times we say THANK-YOU, without taking a moment to actually recognize it, real gratitude is a conscious, positive emotion one can feel and express while feeling deeply thankful about something or someone. It's an affirmation of goodness. We affirm that there is goodness in this world in people and things and we truly appreciate and care about it. Gratitude implies much more than showing good manners and saying good words it is more about recognizing deeds and showing how you feel and making them feel. It sparks a light of joy in your life.

But,

Sometimes we get so preoccupied with maintaining our lives and taking care of ourselves and busy maintaining our work life that we start taking people and things for granted. We forget that nothing in life is permanent and stable and that someone is only staying with you because they want to, not because they have to. Consequently, while they are still around, we should be thankful for them because we never know when the last goodbye is. Don't make them count on the reasons to stay, it might fill you with some lifelong regrets, so before it is late, Appreciate.

Despite being simple concept gratitude, it can bring many benefits both short-term and long-term and gives you a gush of Dopamine:) some experienced benefits are,

WHY GRATITUDE IS IMPORTANT?

  •  it can overpower negative emotions; it can fill you with joy and compassion.
  • makes you happy too.
  • it helps you fight anxiety and stress and lead to better mental health.
  • gives you hope.
  • keep you grounded, and protects you from evil traits like Anger, Aggression, and False Ego.
  • builds self-esteem.
  • boost your morale and give you a sense of validation.
  • it leads to stronger relationships and society.
  • help you grow as a kind and a better person.
  • can improve the quality of your sleep.
  • can improve work relations.
  • leads to positive actions through which you will get positive reactions.
above we have discussed the importance of making this an important practice in our daily life, it sounds great but we know that it can feel less natural to actually practice it amid our busy life. To cultivate this habit, let's breakdown the whole process into stages,

STAGES OF GRATITUDE: -
  1. recognizing what we are grateful,
  2. acknowledging it,
  3. appreciating it
without the initial awareness and recognition, appreciation seems inauthentic and insincere.

HOW YOU CAN PRACTISE OR SHOW GRATITUDE: -

Remember, we all possess the "trait of appreciation," thus we all can exercise it by making certain gestures, such as those listed below,
  • daily counting on 3 things you are grateful for, use your creativity.
  • maintaining a gratitude journal.
  • meditating.
  • thank someone every week.
  • giving some unbirthday presents.
  • being kind and gentle.
  • giving them hugs.
  • sending some appreciation message even without any big event
  • writing handwritten notes.
  • bringing them flowers.
  • taking them to their favorite place to eat or bringing their favorite food.
  • try saying and confessing your feelings with love.
  • trying to look at their intentions rather than their actions only.
This list can go on, but there are many more people that fall short in expressing their feelings in words, therefore they can also try to understand the love language of their close people and take action accordingly, love expressed in any form is always appreciated.

This weekend I advise taking some time off to reflect and acknowledge people and things for their part in your life and how special and important they are. I mean what is life all about?

Thank you for reading, and don't forget I come with blogs every Saturday!
